“Our goals can only be reached through the vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act.” ~ Pablo Picasso
That is exactly why resolutions, typically in the form of a do or don’t, don’t work. We can fervently believe in a resolution, but if we fail to incorporate a plan and to make it happen, it won’t.
A vision, on the other hand, necessitates a thought-out plan or process involving a series of actions, routines and/or habits in order to achieve the end result.
Because we are motivated by pain or pleasure, if we can envision what it will feel like when we get there, those feelings can motivate us to follow through on the actions, routines and habits we need to be, do or have what we want.
It’s not just having a vision and believing, but the combination of mindset and intelligent action that gets the goal.
Do you have a goal for 2020 and a plan to get there?
