If you’re thinking of creating an online course, group coaching or training program, keep in mind that less equals more.
According to a study by Microsoft, the average attention span is eight seconds. That said, we’re humans, not gnats, and naturally, if something intrigues our interest and gets the results we want, we’re all over it.
As a coach, consultant or other service-based entrepreneur, you don’t have to be McDonald’s (fast, cheap and leaving much to be desired) to keep your clients’ attention, but on the other hand, don’t be that fancy French restaurant who makes you wait and wait for the desired outcome, dripping out 1,457 videos over the next 18 months just so you can cover your car payments and have that little bit of security that something is coming in. That’s a fear-based, scarcity mindset and it does little to keep your clients coming back for another round of punishment.
There’s a middle ground here, and it’s good for everyone. If you can help your clients get transformational results in less time, say 6-8 weeks, they will be happy to solve their problem in less time and pay more to get it faster, creating a win:win for everyone.
What kind of programs do you offer and has this been your experience?
